The first "2nd Saturday Arthop"

opened with the
world famous Shasta Taiko On Ensemble, who
base out of Mt. Shasta California.
Taking a makeshift sidewalk stage opposite
Redding's pride and joy The Cascade Theater,
the assembled crowd was treated to 20 minutes
of classic Taiko Japanese  drum melodies.
At one point in the performance, several of the
Shasta Taiko drummers danced through the
audience utilizing traditional time honored
dance moves, which were very reminiscent of
Tia Chi and or Karate moves.
As well as performing in the first ever 2nd
Saturday Arthop - the group was also promoting
their 4th annual ShastaYama festivial held at the
base of mysterious Mt. Shasta - Saturday July
26, 2008 / 7:30 pm.  For further info:
